Our Church History

On November 3, 1978, after several years of leading home fellowships and church ministries, Calvary Chapel Anaheim was birthed when Pastor Mark Bove and a group of believers were compelled to take a stand for the divine inspiration of the Bible. Thirty people asked Mark to become their pastor and began meeting in a home in Orange. Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel ordained him. The church has been at several locations: Key School in Anaheim, Rossier School in Garden Grove, and the Jewish Community Center at Walton Intermediate School also in Garden Grove. When the City needed to reactivate Walton School, God provided an industrial building in Anaheim near Disneyland, which was transformed into our church home in January 1992. In 1993, after asking God what he could do to help our country, Pastor Mark received God's direction to start a Christian School at CCA. We are so thankful that Jesus has graciously continued to create ministries within our church body and that many members have been called out to teach His Word, spread His love, and glorify His Name!
